Wildfires that are being fanned by strong winds brought by Hurricane Dora are tearing through the island of Maui, Hawaii, and have killed at least 36 people.

Footage shows the deadly blaze that is ripping through the town of Lahaina on August 8.

More than 11,000 have been forced to flee as a state of emergency has been declared.

The flames have been scorching through the area for more than 24 hours, said to be fueled by Hurricane Dora, which has been kicking up winds off the coast of the Hawaiian archipelagos.
