This is the moment a family rushed to save a cake when the excited birthday boy nearly dropped it.

Footage shows the family singing a song for the youngster Don Zayyad Amzar, who was celebrating his 11th birthday at their home in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on June 5.

The delighted boy could not contain his happiness, a large grin plastered on his face as he leaned over to blow out the candle.

However, the festive atmosphere quickly turned chaotic when Don began to shake the small table on which the cake sat.

Luckily, his quick-thinking father and cousin managed to stabilise the table before the cake could fall to the floor.

Don's mum Diana said: 'Fortunately, his father and his cousins were quick to save the cake. Their fingers were smeared. Don wasn't having a tantrum, it was just a random act. After that, we all just laughed.'
