Russia says its Navy practiced fighting off mock enemy air raid with Chinese vessels in Pacific Ocean
Russia has claimed that its navy has practiced fighting off a mock enemy air raid with friendly Chinese vessels in the Pacific Ocean.
The footage purports to show Russian and Chinese war vessels working together to defeat a mock enemy air raid in the Pacific Ocean, with helicopters seen taking off from and landing on vessels before the images cut to aircraft taking off from an undisclosed location on land.
The images were obtained from the Russian Ministry of Defense (MoD) on Thursday, August 10, along with a statement claiming: 'Ships of the Russian Navy and the Chinese Navy repelled a simulated enemy air raid during joint patrols in the Pacific Ocean.'
'Warships of the Navy of Russia and the Naval Forces of the People's Liberation Army of China in the course of carrying out the tasks of the third joint maritime patrol of the Pacific Ocean conducted a special exercise with the crews of aircraft and helicopters from both sides.
'The joint detachment of ships of the Russian Navy and the PLA Navy continues to move along the route previously agreed by the parties. The crews of the ships have already crossed the Sea of Japan, the La Perouse Strait, the Sea of Okhotsk, the Kamchatka Strait and the Bering Sea.'
