Dozens of ravenous felines competed in an eating contest at the annual Pet Expo Championship 2023 today in Bangkok, Thailand.

Forty-four pet cats entered the battle of the stomachs to see who could devour their bowl food the quickest.

Footage shows pet cats of all sizes and breeds happily tucking into a plastic bowl of cat chow - some licking the plastic containers clean, while others were less cooperative.

There was no registration fee required, and the victor took home three months' worth of Okiko cat food.

The winner was a tabby cat with a large appetite called Som, who demolished the other moggies with more than 20 seconds to spare.

Second place went to a cute white cat named Nam while third place was grabbed by a slender Siamese cat called Tum. They were also given generous amounts of food as their prizes.

The contest took place at the Pet Expo Championship 2023 held at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok on Friday August 11.

This year's Pet Expo is themed 'Extreme Love: A Championship Field For Our Furry Friends' and features various activities like high jumps, animal skateboarding, agility contests, and other exciting games.

Animal enthusiasts can also mingle with adorable creatures like meerkats, bush babies, servals, and silkies at the Pet Village zone.

Those hoping to see more exotic animals can visit the Exotic Pet zone with hognose snakes, kangaroo rats, anteaters, and aardvarks on display.
