This is the spectacular moment a dolphin zooms through bioluminescent waves leaving a trail of electric blue light while hunting fish.

Justin Buzzi was kayaking Haulover Canal in Florida, USA, on August 1 when a marine mammal put on a beautiful light show for him and his tour.

Stunning footage – which has been viewed almost 1million times - captured the dolphin shooting directly under Justin’s see-through kayak leaving a trail in the water before bursting through the surface.

Having just missed out on one small fish, the dolphin dived underwater again with its dorsal fin leaving another burst of firework-like blue algae to spread across the surface.

Justin, owner of Get Up And Go Kayaking, said: “Dolphins love hunting in the bioluminescence. I think it helps them catch their food. It's so amazing to see the water light up as the dolphin zooms through it to catch it's dinner.

“I’ve been running this tour for seven years now but every time I see this, it still blows my mind.

“The dolphin was chasing after a small fish. This went on for about 30 seconds.”
