In an awe-inducing spectacle that left Melbourne residents utterly astonished, a stellar meteor graced the night sky with its majestic presence... or at least that's what most people thought they saw.

Shared by Lovepreet Singh, this breathtaking clip shows the aforementioned 'meteor' zipping down the sky. Its luminous existence is pretty much impossible to ignore and sufficient to astound those gazing upon it.

It's worth noting that since this magnificent sighting, people have come forward and stated that the mass in the sky was merely launch debris from a Russian satellite, and not a meteor.
