This is the amusing moment a farmer took his cow to a carwash for a refreshing bath.

The young man let his favourite bovine feed on the grass in the fields the entire morning so its body had been soiled in Phatthalung province, Thailand on July 23.

Instead of heading straight home with the animal, the pair had a stopover at the DIY auto spa to give it a shower.

Footage shows the farmer carefully scrubbing soap on the cow's body with a sponge while its reins were tied to a post.

Workers watched him from the other booths, with one of them approaching to record the amusing scene with his phone.

The carwash shop owner said: ‘He didn't violate any rules. Anyone can come and wash their ride, although his was a cow. We let him clean his pet in peace.'

After the cow had been rinsed with a waterhose, the farmer and his cow left the shop and went on their way.
