Footage shows Ukrainian border guards destroying a Russian forest hideout near Bakhmut with mortar shells.

A soldier was seen in making his way to the Russian dugout hidden among the trees before the area was hit by Ukrainian ordnance.

The images were obtained from the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine on Friday, August 11, along with a statement saying: 'Katsap did not have time to run to the dugout and caught a shell from our border guards.'

'Katsap' is a derogatory Ukrainian term for a Russian.

They added: 'Border guards-mortars fire and destroy the invaders along with their fortifications.'

The enemy set up camouflaged positions in the forest on one of the Bakhmut flanks. In order to clear the forest massif from the enemy's fortifications, the mortar fire of the border guards received the firing task.

A sudden mortar fire from the border guards forced the Russians to flee to the dugout. The enemy personnel were concentrated in the dugout when one of the artillery shells hit him.

As a result of the shelling, the enemy's fortifications were destroyed, the losses of manpower are being investigated.

Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, in what the Kremlin is still calling a 'special military operation'.
