This adorable pet dog skyrocketed to online stardom for his trick - sitting obediently on a motorcycle while waiting for his owner to go shopping.

The male pooch Khao Tu, 5, drew admiration from mall-goers as he perched on the two-wheeler's leather seat at a mall carpark in Ratchaburi, Thailand.

Khao Tu was seen leaning on the bike's handlebars and watching passers-by as he waited for fur mum Orapin Kaentubtim, 48, to finish her shopping.

Reporters tracked down the pair and found them preparing for a trip to the local market in Ratchaburi province.

Speaking to local media, Orapin said that Khao Tu had become used to sitting on the motorcycle as he had been doing it since he was just a puppy.

She said passers-by would often fawn over him, and though he was usually shy and wary of strangers, he would stay calm and never lashed out at anyone.

Khao Tu was originally meant to be a replacement for Orapin's aunt's dog that passed away. But when the woman declined the offer, Orapin decided to raise the pooch instead. The pair have since grown inseparable, as Khao Tu was very clingy and affectionate, according to Orapin.

She added that though he may occasionally bark at unfamiliar faces, Khao Tu has never bitten or attacked a stranger.

The proud pet owner said: 'That day, we had gone to the shopping mall to go shopping. But since pets were not allowed inside the mall, Khao Tu had to wait patiently on the motorcycle for nearly an hour until we returned.

'We often take him to the mall, around five times a month. One time, he even waited for more than two hours for us to return. The other mall-goers have also become used to him.'

Thanks to his calm nature, Khao Tu has become a beloved local pet celebrity, with his fans asking for selfies and gifting him treats whenever they meet him.
