This is the shocking moment rampaging hotel guests threw furniture into a pool at a resort in the Philippines.

The troublemaking customers were on a company-sponsored trip to the Jeremias Resort in Bucal town, Calamba City, Laguna province on August 14, when they hurled plastic tables and chairs into the resort's pool.

CCTV footage shows the group of four men merrily tossing bottles, stools, folding tables, rubbish, and even an entire water dispenser into the pool.

Noneth Palentino, one of the resort owners, said the thugs retrieved their security deposit from the caretaker during checkout, but fled in a hurry on their motorcycles when staff went to inspect the pool.

Upon reaching the area, the owners were horrified to see the mess, with rubbish, glass shards, bottles, and food containers floating on the pool surface. At the bottom were several chairs, a grill, and the damaged water dispenser.

When the employees emptied the pool of water, they also found clumps of dirt that the customers had thrown.

In a statement, Jeremias Resort management said complaints were filed at the local village office against the guests. The CCTV footage was also forwarded to their company.

The men's parents later appeared at the office to apologise to the resort owners and pay the settlement, which was not disclosed.

The statement said: 'The parents gave a large amount as settlement for the trouble their sons have caused, and they asked us not to move forward with the damage to property cases. However, we have no control over what punishment their company may hand down.

'We decided not to push through with litigation, but the guests were fired from their jobs after we informed their company about the incident. On our part, we felt sorry for their parents, who even knelt in front of us for forgiveness.

'We hope this serves as a lesson for everyone involved.'
