Russia has claimed that it has taken out Ukrainian positions using a T-72B3M tank.

The footage shows the Russian tank driving along a dirt track in a forested area before manoeuvring into position in a treeline by a field.

The tank can then be seen liaising with a Russian soldier in a command centre and opening fire. The images then show a number of explosions, reportedly the Ukrainian positions being hit.

The T-72B3M is an upgraded version of the T-72B3 main battle tank. It features improved armour protection, increased firepower, and enhanced mobility.

The images were obtained from the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) on Tuesday, August 15, along with a statement claiming: 'Tankers from a T-72B3M of the combined arms formation of the Western Military District fired at the camouflaged fortifications of the armed forces of Ukraine.'
