Japan: Typhoon-Related Heavy Rain Causes Flooding In Central Region
Typhoon Lan ripped across western Japan after making landfalls on Tuesday, August 15, leaving dozens of people injured as heavy rainfall disrupted air and train services at the height of the summer holiday season.
On Wednesday, a typhoon-related heavy rain caused flooding in Shizuoka and surrounding areas. The JR Tokai halted its Shinkansen bullet train service, causing travel chaos at major stations.
