Anger online as unleashed golden retriever attacks smaller dog
Online outrage erupted as an unleashed golden retriever attacked a smaller dog in southern China.
Horrifying CCTV video filmed in Shenzhen City in Guangdong Province on August 14 shows a golden retriever charging from an intersection and lunging at a small dog walked by a woman named Ms Liu.
Liu screamed and attempted to shield her pet, only to be knocked down by the larger dog. The retriever persistently bit and tugged at the smaller dog as a distraught Liu cried out for help.
Shortly after, the golden retriever's owner rushed to the scene, restraining the aggressive dog and ensuring it released the smaller pet.
Eyewitness accounts from nearby shopkeepers recall seeing the golden retriever sprint past, shortly followed by Liu's desperate cries for assistance.
When they emerged to investigate, they witnessed the retriever attacking the small dog. Notably, no leash was observed on the golden retriever during the incident.
Liu, the owner of the small dog, reported that her pet suffered injuries and she too was hurt in the ordeal. The injured dog is currently receiving treatment at a veterinary hospital.
Both parties have since engaged in discussions regarding the incident. Following the traumatic encounter, the golden retriever's owner accompanied Liu and her injured pet to the hospital for medical attention.
A representative from the Shiyan district office stated that later that evening, both parties reached an agreement at the Shiyan police station, successfully mediating and resolving the issue related to compensation.
The video was provided by local media with permission.
