The Guangfulin Site, "the root of Shanghai's history and culture", was discovered in 1959 and identified as a Neolithic site after archaeological excavations, with cultural relics of the Zhou and Han dynasties. The cultural layer of Guangfulin site is divided into three layers, the upper layer is the Wuyue culture layer of Spring and Autumn period, the middle layer is the Maqiao culture of Xia and Shang period, and the lower layer is the Liangzhu culture layer of Neolithic age.
