A wild monitor lizard sparked chaos chasing children through school corridor.

Footage shows the reptile rampaging outside kindergarten classrooms while kids screamed and fled in Bangkok, Thailand, on July 3.

It hid inside one of the rooms but was later caught by one of the employees who dragged it out.

With the help of a teacher, the lizard was secured in a sack, although it tried to wriggle out without success another time.

Asian water monitor lizards normally live in canals, swamps, sewers and ponds in cities in Thailand. They feed on fish, snakes, frogs and scraps of food left by humans.

The reptiles are aggressive when threatened and have a mildly venomous bite which sometimes carries harmful bacteria. The Godzilla-like reptiles are also a protected species in the country so their population thrives.
