In an amusing twist of fate, a would-be robber's ill-timed attempt to hold up a tobacco store in Graz, Austria, was thwarted by the shop's timelock mechanism.

The incident unfolded on August 9, just after 6 pm, as the hapless gunman brandished his weapon and demanded cash.

Unfazed, the composed store staff informed him that the timelock had already sealed the till at 6 pm, suggesting he should have struck an hour earlier. The bewildering encounter was captured on CCTV, showing the gunman's retreat. Despite his failure to secure any loot, police are investigating potential links to other heists in the area.

Described as between 25 and 35 years old, around 180 cm tall, and speaking the local dialect, the thwarted robber left netizens amused by his unsuccessful endeavour.
