Thousands of spectators turn out to watch the annual carnival procession at Bridport in Dorset, which was resurrected in 1971 and has been held every year since except 2020 and 2021 due to the covid pandemic. There were 29 entries to this years carnival from locals young and old which included a steel band, majorettes, emergency service vehicles, a steam traction engine, Sonic the Hedgehog, Barbies and youth footballers wishing the lionesses good luck in the World Cup Final. The carnival weekend festivities finished tomorrow evening with a torchlight procession from Bridport Town Hall to West Bay.
