Six workers went missing amid an unexpected flood in southern China.

The video was filmed in Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture in Sichuan Province on August 21.

According to reports, a short and intense downpour caused the flash flooding and a construction site bore the brunt of the calamity with as many as 85 workers getting caught in the sudden onslaught.

As of 1:30 pm, the diligent efforts of rescue teams have managed to bring 79 people to safety. However, six individuals remain unaccounted for.

According to officials from the Lugu Township, preliminary assessments suggest that the missing workers might be located near the temporary sheds at the construction site.

Firefighters from Gold Sun County were quick to respond, with local militia rescue teams from Lugu Township also pitching in to bolster the operations.

With over 500 rescuers now at the scene, the local authorities have spared no effort in ensuring a swift response, deploying heavy machinery including excavators and loaders to aid in the search and rescue operations.
