A kitten trapped under kitchen tiles inside drain pipe was rescued by a resident.

The young feline was heard crying by house owner Amnaj Janklai who was then cleaning his home in Sisaket province, Thailand, on July 1.

Amnai searched around but could not find it, so he followed the sounds which led him to the portion of the house under renovation.

Footage shows the good Samaritan removing wooden boards that covered a hole in the ground leading to the pipes.

He found the creature there and wore plastic around his hand as makeshift gloves before picking the animal up.

Amnai said: ‘The kitten might have been born in the house by a stray mother while I was away. I cleaned it up and it now lives with me.'
