Fixed close-up of Xixia Black Brown Glaze Carved Flower Pattern Cans in Xixia Museum, Yinchuan City, Ningxia.
Yinchuan has been built for 2121 years. Due to its three major characteristics of the ancient capital of Western Xia, Hui ethnic customs, and the Jiangnan region, it was announced by the State Council as the second batch of national historical and cultural cities in 1986, ranking among the 110 historical and cultural cities in the country. There are numerous historical and cultural relics distributed in the ancient city, which reflect the development and changes of various historical periods in Yinchuan. With the passage of time, numerous historical and cultural relics in Yinchuan City have gradually disappeared into the long river of history. The video shows a close-up of the Xixia Black Brown Glaze Carved Flower Pattern Pot, a collection in the Xixia Museum in Yinchuan, Ningxia. The pot body is brown and dark brown, with a simple and atmospheric surface pattern. The pot body is laid flat with flowers, and the carving method is simple, the lines are smooth, and the shape is full and stable. The object has a short neck and a bulging belly, and the shins are gradually closed, with low circular feet.
The whole body is coated with a slightly brownish black glaze, and the shiny black flowers form a sharp contrast with the light yellow carcass, presenting a light relief effect. This vessel presents a touch of boldness and roughness in its grandeur, making it a perfect fusion of the characteristics of the Western Xia ethnic group and the culture of Central Plains porcelain. There is very little inheritance of Western Xia porcelain. In 1984, a porcelain kiln was first discovered in Ciyaobao, Lingwu, Ningxia, revealing the mystery of Western Xia porcelain. This jar is painted with black glaze, and the glaze on the mouth and feet is scraped off. The belly is decorated with a flower picking technique to decorate the tangled lotus. The removed part exposes the fetal bone and is filled with white makeup soil. The scratches on the fetal body can be seen through the finely divided slices. The fetal material is slightly thicker and appears light yellow. The glaze is shiny, with a dark to brownish color. Its decorative style is similar to the Western Xia brown glazed carved pot unearthed in Mingai Village, Ejin Horo, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in 1956.
