Yinchuan has been built for 2121 years. There are numerous historical and cultural relics distributed in the ancient city, which reflect the development and changes of various historical periods in Yinchuan. The overall shape of the Western Xia Mausoleum is a conical shape with a wide bottom and a thin top, surrounded by sticks of the same length. The solid rammed earth building of the Western Xia Mausoleum has a rough exterior, which is then smoothed with wheat straw mud.
The fine mud is then mixed with ochre red pigment to make it red and applied to the walls, making them ochre red.
