Woman finds broken blade in pastry in China
A woman named Lin found a broken blade concealed within a mooncake she had ordered online for her family in central China.
Shocking video filmed in Zhengzhou City in Henan Province on August 20 shows a broken blade in the middle of a mooncake.
When Ms Lin reached out to the seller to discuss the alarming discovery, she was met with disbelief. The vendor dismissed the notion, stating such an incident was "impossible." However, in an attempt to assuage her concerns, they offered a tenfold compensation for the oversight.
Feeling that the issue was far more serious than a mere monetary compensation, and angered by the grave danger the oversight posed, Lin declined the offer. Instead, she decided to take matters into her own hands by filing a complaint with the online shopping platform. Not stopping there, Lin also reported the incident to the Food and Drug Administration.
As of now, there has been no definitive response on the matter.
