A woman has left social media users in shock after revealing her bizarre manicure that includes a complete tea set.

Morgan Gilbertson is a nail technician who specialises in creating fun and funky creations.

The 23-year-old has previously gone viral after sharing unusual designs such as mushroom-topped nails, seashell nails and even a set made from sweets.

Her latest creation has racked up over 16.7 million views on Instagram (@haus_of_nails) and social media users aren’t sure what to think.

“My grandma was a beautician when she was younger,” Morgan, from Noblesville, Indiana, US, said.

“And I always remember her giving me manicures as a little girl.

“She definitely inspired me at a young age to fall in love with the beauty industry and to feel inspired by beauty.

“The process of creating the teacup nails was quite tedious but simple.

“The tea cup nails were hand-painted.

“I bought ceramic doll house tea cups and added gold trimming to give the fine china look.

“Most of the materials I use are professional grade gel, but if it’s not a professional nail product, I love finding mediums and inspiration at craft stores!”

Morgan, who sells her own designs, can spend anywhere between two to four hours on a set of nails, with her typical press-ons selling for $60-$80 USD (£47 - £62).

Her more extreme designs, such as the teacup nails, have bigger price tags, costing between $200-$400 (£157 - £314).

She said: “Clients who purchase my more extreme press on sets are typically purchasing them for photo shoots, music videos, festivals or big events!

“I’m sure there’s a lot of stuff I couldn’t make, but I love a good challenge.

“Now, with how advanced nail art has become, there’s not a lot we can’t do.

“I literally have every tool or product I could dream of allowing me to create these unique sets of art!

“My art has always been inspired by limitations.

“Lady Gaga was a huge influence when I was younger.

“I loved her creativity with the meat dress, CDs... anything she could get her hands on to express herself through fashion!

The nail technician recently shared a clip of the tea cup nails on social media, with the post racking up over 152,000 likes and thousands of comments from bemused users.

Barbara asked: “Who wipes your behind for you?”

Eddie added: “You break a nail…you buy it!”

Another fan wrote: “Someone said she always got the tea.”

Julian commented: “That’s fine China.”

“What in the Beauty and Beast is this,” said someone else.

“Tea right at your fingertips,” added Lakeshia.

“White with 2 sugars thanks,” joked someone else.

“Dishwasher and microwave safe,” quipped another user.

“And this is how we save the environment from empty coffee cups,” added someone else.

Morgan is already planning her next nail project.

Morgan added: “I always have so many ideas of ‘what’s next’...

"Currently, I am working on a unique mermaid set!

“I was completely mind blown that my video of my tea cup nails went viral.

“I was so excited!

“It’s actually crazy the power of social media, seeing where my art landed in all parts of the world!

“I was overjoyed with the support and appreciation of my art!”
