Ten-thousand Santas ran a 5.5 kilometre race through central Madrid on Saturday to raise money for charity.

The annual event has become the largest Santa race anywhere in the world.

This year runners were raising money for the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation of Madrid.

For the second consecutive year, Santa Claus has run its record enrollment with people dressed in the costume

The Christmas rush has nearly doubled the number of entries last year, 5,173 , a number that lifted her to the top spot in the world rankings race with as many Santas dressed in hat, jacket , pants and beard.

The route, about 5.5 kilometers , has its outlet in the Bernabeu at 9.00 .
