Furious Thai wife stabs husband's mistress and vows 'prison is better than being cheated on by a man'
A furious Thai wife stabbed her husband's mistress, vowing that 'prison is better than being cheated on by a man.'
Scorned wife Thanachporn, 47, (seen in pink jacket in the video) plunged a kitchen knife into her husband's paramour Wilairat Wongwan, 41, in front of a convenience store in Samut Prakan province, Thailand, on August 22.
Police in the Bang Bo district received a report from Wilairat that the woman was threatening to stab her. But when they arrived at the scene, they found the mistress already bleeding with a knife wound near her left breast, while the 6in bloodstained blade lay on the floor near her.
Officers took her to the Bang Bo Hospital as the injury was severe that she had lost a significant amount of blood. However, she is expected to pull through and make a full recovery.
Meanwhile, the remorseless wife Thanachporn made no move to escape the cops and claimed responsibility for the attack.
She told police her actions were spurred by her husband Pairat's infidelity, which she claimed had also begun to affect their children.
Thanachporn said she and Pairat had been married for a decade and had kids together when she caught him cheating with Wilairat last year.
Despite the affair, she said she had chosen to forgive the adultering hubby and give him another chance when he agreed to cut ties with his mistress, with whom he shared a 100,000 THB (2,865 USD) debt.
Thanachporn said she later learned that he was continuing with his philandering ways, rarely coming home in the past five months. She claimed he had also pawned his gold jewellery and car to meet Wilairat's demands.
The tipping point came when Pairat refused to give her 20 THB (0.57 USD) to cover their child's school expenses.
She said she decided to call the mistress to settle their predicament, only to be met with verbal assault from the other woman.
On the day of the incident, Thanachporn said she had decided to tail the illicit lovers, bringing along a knife 'for self-defense'.
The dispute happened at the convenience store and escalated into a stabbing as tempers flared when Wilairat allegedly hurled insults and curses at Thanachporn.
The desperate wife, claiming to be blinded by rage, said she had lost control of her emotions and attacked Wilairat when she tried to call the police on her.
She coldly stated that she would rather face jail than lose her dignity by being cheated on by a man.
Meanwhile, cheating husband Pairat reportedly admitted to his year-long affair with Wilairat. He said he had met her while she was seeking help from being scammed out of 900 THB.
Speaking to local media, he said: 'It was difficult to end my relationship with both of them. But I did not know that the issue would escalate to this level.'
The husband said he has apologised and decided to break up with both women to live with his two sons. He paid Wilairat 100,000 THB for support and agreed to give Thanachporn 400 THB per day as alimony, local media reported.
Mistress Wilairat's husband, Pongsiri, 47, said he knew that his wife and Pairat were acquaintances, but did not know they were romantically involved.
Authorities said Thanachporn was charged with attempted murder and was detained at the Bang Bo Police Station. She will be handed over to Samut Prakan Provincial Court for further legal proceedings.
