Kids surfed on the back of a bus while it was pulling them through a flood.

Footage shows the youngsters chasing after the passenger vehicle - locally called a jeepney - before clinging onto its tail and dragging themselves along the flooded street in Pampanga province, the Philippines, on August 2.

The kids played on the waist-deep deluge that submerged their neighbourhood during the severe monsoon rain that suspended classes in schools in the entire province.

The Philippines and other countries in Southeast Asia, such as Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand, are in the middle of their tropical monsoon rainy season, which lasts from May or June until November.

A jeepney is a minibus-like public utility vehicle that is the most popular means of public transportation in the Philippines. It is known for its crowded seating and kitsch decorations.
