The water quality of a lake showed a deep green colour, with many dead fish washed up on the shore in eastern China.

The video was filmed in Xuzhou City in Jiangsu Province on August 23.

On the afternoon of the 24th, the Ecological and Environmental Bureau of Xinyi City, Xuzhou, responded that, after preliminary investigation, the deep green colour of the water body was not caused by factory sewage discharge, but rather due to eutrophication in certain areas of the water.

Relevant authorities are currently addressing the issue.
