"Receiving the award at such an advanced age has made me feel really encouraged. At this age, I can still continue to work and contribute to the development of music and art in China. For the friendly communication and cultural exchange between the peoples of China and the U.S., and for the cultural undertakings of the entire mankind, I can still make my own contributions."

Established in 1981, the Most Outstanding Asian Artist Lifetime Achievement Award is one of the most significant honors in the United States dedicated to recognizing excellence in the Asian arts community.
