A woman has spent over $2k decking her house out with spooky décor – and says her husband doesn't "share the same love of Halloween". "

Elise Neace, 32, has always been into Halloween and has been watching horror movies since she was three years old and celebrates all year round.

After buying her own place six years ago, she wanted to put her own spin on it – and has decorated three rooms in her home with spooky décor so far.

Elise said she wanted to "appease" her husband, Zach, 32, who works at a motoring factory, but said he "didn’t care" what she did."

Elise has decorated her living room, dining room and bedroom with spooky items – such as signs, skull cushions, and cobweb placemats.

She estimates she has spent between $1k to $2k over six years – slowly adding her ghostly decorations to the rooms.

Elise hopes to make every room in the house fit into her Halloween theme and says her house always has Halloween décor up - to celebrate all year round.

Elise, a certified medical administrative assistant, from Antwerp, Ohio, US, said: "I have always been into Halloween."

"I love horror movies."

"I wanted to wait [to decorate] and appease my husband but he doesn’t care what I do."

"My husband doesn’t share the same love of Halloween as I do."

"I’d like to do the entire house."

Elise jumped at the chance to transform her home into a haunted house – and has spent the last six years sourcing and buying spooky signs, Halloween themed kitchen towels and mugs and cushions.

She said: "The walls were pink when we moved."

"The living room and dining room are now painted a moody blue."

Elise’s favourite part of her home is her wall in her dining room – which she has covered in sign such as ‘home sweet haunted home’ and ‘witches' market’.

She said visitors to her home like the spooky décor.

Elise said: "Most people love it – they know who I am and that it makes me happy."

Elise tries to limit each decorative item to $20 and estimates she has spent up to $2k on the décor.

She has just started on her bedroom and hopes to paint it a dark maroon or green.

Elise said: "I got some cute skull pillows."

"I changed the bedding and got some ghost blankets and an orange bed spread."

Elise has slowly been adding her décor elsewhere in the house – and has Halloween themed mugs and tea towels in the kitchen.

She has an entire wardrobe of black and dark clothes and loves to put on fun Halloween make-up each year.

Elise said: "I do Halloween make-up just for fun."

"The first movie I remember watching was Pet Cemetery."

"I watched it so many times my grandparents gave the VHS tape when I was three."

"I like the whole aspect of dressing up and having fun."
