Two thirsty wild monkeys stole a bottle of juice from the back of a pickup truck in Thailand.

The vehicle was waiting in a queue of traffic when the cheeky primates leaped onto the flatbed compartment and grabbed the bottle.

They were seen taking it in turn drinking the refreshing watermelon juice - cooling off while temperatures reached more than 32 degrees Celsius in the central city of Lopburi.

Onlooker Bowornsak said: 'I forgot there was a bottle of juice in the back of the truck. The monkeys were quick to take it for themselves.'

Lopburi has become a popular tourist destination because of its large population of monkeys. The monkeys are mostly long-tailed macaques, and they can be found all over the city, from the temples to the streets.

However, they can also be aggressive, and they have been known to steal food and belongings.
