An urban explorer was left shaking and terrified after he experienced a haunting visit to an abandoned factory.

Aaron, a full-time explorer and adventurer known online as @‌aaronexplores757, found the abandoned building after coming across it while out on a walk a few days earlier.

While exploring the disused factory, he experienced something horrifying which shocked him to his core.

Descending to the basement, it collapsed, causing Aaron to claw his way free of the hazardous material.

“I was exploring an abandoned factory in the Midwest,” the 45-year-old, from Midwestern US, told http://needtoknow.co.uk .

“As I entered the basement, the metal stairs turned to cake beneath my feet, and instantly my lungs began to fill with a rot filled stench that burned with a vengeance.

“When I fired the beam of my torch against the swallowing blackness, the sight of the barrels sent me into a frenzy.

“They were dripping with something...twisted with something...something bright orange!

“The horror of the reality screamed its way across the basement, and I had to get out!

“In all of my years, I have never actually had to claw my way out of a basement until this.”

Formerly known as the Republic Rubber Factory, the site opened in 1915, creating rubber for tires and hoses.

At its peak, the company employed 2,300 employees, however, due to employment problems, the business rapidly went downhill, with only 150 employees by 1980, before shutting its doors in 1989.

After closing, the building was left unused, beginning to rot and decompose amongst nature.

He added: “I enjoy the beauty in how nature reclaims what was once hers.

“I risk dangerous situations to bring you beautiful scenes of the forgotten.

“My photographs help keep the dreams alive of those who spent blood sweat and tears to erect these places. I like to share the beauty of our past with all of you at home.

“However, the memory of what I saw in that place is scorched in my brain forever.”

Aaron shared a clip of his adventure on TikTok, (@aaronexplores757 ), which gathered 26.5 million views.

In the video, Aaron shares the moment he entered the basement, where he was met with red, rubbery, burning toxic waste.

The abandoned rubber left behind contained toxic chemicals, which could pollute the air and contaminate soil and water.

In the video, Aaron can be heard gagging and holding his breath, as well as shouting ‘oh my god.'

The post has gained 1.2 million likes as well as over 8,200 comments.
