A Malaysian woman hoping to find a boyfriend on a flight was left sorely disappointed when she ended up sitting next to someone's pet dog instead.

Wishful passenger Mak Som waited with starry eyes as a parade of handsome Turkish hunks entered the jet heading to Turkey on January 15.

To her chagrin, the dreamboats all ignored Mak Som and walked past her to their seats, leaving the lovelorn tourist all by her lonesome, still waiting for her lover-to-be.

Cruel fate finally dashed all her hopes, however, when an elderly woman hauling a dog carrier appeared moments later, and asked to sit next to the passenger.

The shock and dismay was visible on Mak Som's face as her companions burst into uncontrollable giggles at her plight.

Despite Mak Som's failed attempt at finding love in transit, she appeared to have enjoyed her holiday trip to Turkey with her friends.
