This is the terrifying moment a massive python hiding behind a family's concrete wall was caught.

Footage shows the 12ft-long wild serpent being extracted from the hole that was made wider by rescuers using a hammer and drill in Samut Prakan province, Thailand.

The resident said she had heard strange noises coming from behind the concrete wall so she called the local snake-catching unit. They later released the unharmed reptile back into the wild on June 15.

The reticulated python is found throughout Southeast Asia, where they live in forests, swamps, canals and even in cities, causing them to come into conflict with humans. The species is one of the world's largest snakes and can eat humans, cats, dogs, birds, rats and other snakes.
