A boy was successfully rescued after his head was stuck between metal railings while playing outside his home.

Namo, 3, was accompanying his grandma Jidapa Jitvisutsri, 55, as she cleaned their yard next to a forest in Chanthaburi province, eastern Thailand, on August 23.

The youngster rushed back to the house as Jidapa finished up her chores.

However, the woman panicked when she suddenly heard Namo crying. She ran over to find his head wedged in the gap in their gate.

She pacified the child and called local volunteers for help, who arrived with a saw to cut off the metal bars.

Footage shows adorable Namo giggling as he was comforted by the rescuers while they prepared to use their tools. They covered his head with a towel to shield him from the metal shavings before prying the railing loose.

The rescue took two minutes, and Namo was freed without any injuries.

Jidapa said: 'Namo ran back to the house before me, but I panicked because he suddenly began to cry. He had poked his head through the gate and couldn't get out. I tried to free him myself, but I was scared of injuring him.'
