The situation started slow, but wind and rain has increased drastically overnight
Idalia is definitely a category 3 hurricane with very very strong winds
Our power went out which means we don’t have AC or kitchen appliances (fridge, stove, microwave, etc). We also can’t drive anywhere because it could flood our cars plus there have been many road closures.
We have prepared by buying bottled water and non perishable foods. We bought a generator and filled our bathtub with water in case our water is turned off. We also have extra batteries, flashlights and portable chargers to keep our phones charged.
