A sick leopard was rescued by villagers after it had strayed into the Eklera village in central India's Madhya Pradesh.

This happened in Dewas district of the state on August 29.

Visuals showed the wild animal wandering about in a field. Later, the animal was captured by the forest department and put into a cage. Layer, it was sent for treatment. As per a report, some villagers informed the forest department about this animal and they arrived and rescued it.

It was learnt that the wild animal was actually followed by villagers. The locals first followed the disoriented animal and noticing that it didn't react wildly as it was supposed to, they got closer and even clicked pictures with it and patting its back.

The forest department rescued the exhausted big cat and it was then examined by veterinarians and sent to a zoo in Indore. The animal has been kept under vigilance and as per vets, it is said to be suffering from neurological disorders. The leopard, which has no visible sign of injury was discovered to a be a male, aged 10 years. Its blood and swab samples have been sent for examination which would determine how it would be treated.
