Footballers in Bukittinggi, Indonesia, took part in a match where they had to stop playing and dance when music was played.

This amusing footage was captured on August 30 as locals celebrated Indonesia's independence day.

A football match featuring sarong-clad players was held in Indonesia to mark the country's Independence Day.

Footage filmed in Bukittinggi on 30 October shows two teams competing in a mini-football match at the Ateh Ngarai Field stadium.

One of the rules of this entertaining game is that all players wear sarongs. Players must dance in their position when the music starts. The game continues when the music stops. Other rules are the same as for futsal matches.

The spectators are entertained when they see a player's shoe stuck in the opposing player's sarong, the ball going into the sarong, and the player's sarong coming off while chasing the ball.

The 1 x 30-minute match between the sub-district teams ended in a 2-2 draw.

Indonesia's Independence Day is commemorated every 17 August.
