Quiet winds as Super-Typhoon Saola hits Hong Kong around midday
Despite the super-typhoon Saola giving way to fears that it could be as destructive as the typhoon Manghkut a few years back, the fears appeared largely unfounded by midday in Hong Kong, as people strolled along Avenue of Stars in Kowloon. The sea appeared to be calm, with almost no wind, leading tourists and locals to stroll along the famous seaside walk to take selfies or jog.
