A woman named Yang was astonished to see a colossal 'cloud ring' hovering over her residential community.

The rare video was filmed in the city of Pingtan in Fujian Province on August 29.

Mrs Yang looked up to witness an immense rectangular-shaped ring cloud drifting slowly from behind the tall buildings. Despite the strong winds that evening, the distinct shape of the cloud remained undistorted as it floated along.

Within a matter of minutes, the cloud had drifted away. Profoundly moved by this rare sight, Mrs Yang said it was her first time witnessing such a phenomenon and described her feelings at the moment as a mixture of excitement and awe.

In response to the mysterious sighting, a representative from the Pingtan County Meteorological Bureau commented on August 30. They speculated that the cloud formation was likely not a typical meteorological cloud.

Furthermore, they dismissed the idea that it could have been a result of atmospheric refraction or reflection. Instead, they suggested it might have been caused by non-meteorological factors, possibly an aircraft or other flying objects. They added that they had never seen such a perfectly shaped cloud before.

杨女士介绍，事件是晚上9点45分，她抬头看到一个巨大的呈长方形状的环形云从高楼后缓缓飘过，晚上风很大，云随着风漂移，但形状一点儿也没有被风吹散，几分钟左右就飘走了。她是第一次看到这样的云，当时很激动，很惊奇。
8月30日，平潭县气象台一名工作人员回应称，据推测应该不是气象云，也不太可能是因为天空折射、反射等气象原因。像非气象原因造成，可能是飞机或者其他空中飞行物等原因。自己也没看到过这么规则的云。
