Eric Louwman, president of Dutch car dealer Louwman Group, said that China is at the forefront of "all the technological developments around electrification."

Since October 2022, Louwman has been collaborating with China's leading new-energy vehicle (NEV) manufacturer BYD to open BYD dealerships in the Netherlands. So far, they have sold over 700 BYD EVs.

"We have been active in automotive for 100 years, and we've always been at the forefront of new developments, but we have never experienced something like what we're experiencing at this moment. There's a huge change, transformation going into the car business at the moment, especially with electrification, but also with all the new technology that is included in the car.
We are seeing at this moment that China is at the forefront of all the technological developments around electrification.
I'm very confident and very optimistic about the future of BYD in Europe. They are willing to make the right steps to be successful in the European markets."
