STORYLINE:

International experts have praised the role of the China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) in leading the green, innovative and inclusive transformation of trade in services.

This year's CIFTIS, one of the world's largest and most comprehensive fairs for trade in services, will be held in Beijing from Sept. 2 to 6.

"China has tremendous capabilities in all the fields of technology, manufacturing, and production. The services trade includes many important sectors, such as transportation, tourism, and environment-friendly green production. China seeks to make its trade in services green by using clean and sustainable transportation. China is leading this trend of services trade because its returns will be more than the trade of products in the future. The CIFTIS is considered a showcase for China's latest technologies of trade in services. This fair is very important because it promotes green production that will increase the volume of international trade in services."

"I think this CIFTIS that is (going to be) held in China is important to showcase what China is doing. Other countries can find out how China has leveraged on services to become industrialized, other countries can learn how they can make services stand-alone industries and how service is important in the growth of an economy. So countries are interested to learn and maybe take those ideas home so that they can implement them in their own countries as they industrialize or as they move from the industrial age to the post-industrial age."
