Namibia's 10th Mining Expo and Conference opened in Windhoek, the capital of Namibia, on Wednesday.
The two-day event, themed "Namibia's Role in the Sustainable Supply of Minerals to Support the Global Energy Transition," has attracted a huge turnout.
164 exhibitors occupied 268 booths at this year's event, as compared to 103 exhibitors with 163 booths last year, increasing by 59.2 percent in exhibitors and 64.4 percent in booth uptake, according to Zebra Kasete, president of the Chamber of Mines of Namibia.
The event brings together industry professionals, suppliers, and stakeholders to explore the latest advancements, opportunities, and challenges in the mining sector.
Namibia is poised to take center stage in supporting the global energy transition, paving the way for new economic opportunities within the mining sector, according to Veston Malango, Chief Executive of the Chamber of Mines of Namibia.
