The perpetrator stole the charity box near the entrance to the mosque. Meanwhile in the mosque it was quiet and there was no activity.

These perpetrators acted on the same day but at different times. It is suspected that the two of them were part of a special gang of thieves from charity boxes who had previously monitored the condition of the mosque area.

The perpetrator stole millions of rupiah in charity boxes, by stuffing them into his underwear so that local residents would not suspect the perpetrator's movements.

Officers learned about this incident after the children were going to study the Koran and saw money scattered under the charity box. So he reported it to officers, looking at the CCTV camera he saw two people committing theft by pretending to be praying.

The officer on duty at the At-Taqwa Lolong Belanti Mosque, Muhammad Darpi, said this theft occurred on Sunday (27/8/2023). This case has been reported to the North Padang Police for further processing.

"The first incident was around 10.35 WIB. The perpetrator came on a black Vixion motorbike, the perpetrator was also wearing a uniform and parked his vehicle in the parking area recorded on CCTV," he said.

The perpetrator entered the mosque and put money in the charity box and immediately prayed. From CCTV video footage, the perpetrator monitored the situation after praying.

"The perpetrator casually took the charity box, and also saw the atmosphere of the mosque area which was quiet. There were two people involved in the perpetrator," he said.

It didn't take long for the perpetrator to steal the money in the donation box and then leave. Several hours later, at around 14.00 WIB, the theft occurred again.

Darpi was surprised that this act of theft of money from the donation box could happen twice a day. So it is strong suspicion, the two perpetrators are a conspiracy.
