A bizarre dining experience left diners at a local restaurant in shock when they discovered a shoe insole in their fish dish in northern China.

The video was filmed in the city of Anshan in Liaoning Province on August 31.

According to the diner Ms Liu, as the fresh fish was served to their table, her friend flipped it with chopsticks, revealing the hidden shoe insole. Astonished by the discovery, they immediately informed the restaurant owner.

The restaurant owner conducted an investigation into the matter and offered an explanation. They claimed that during the process of stewing the fish, one of the kitchen staff accidentally dislodged a hanging shoe insole, causing it to fall into the cooking pot unnoticed.

Liu and her friends were less than convinced by the owner's explanation and found it rather far-fetched. In an attempt to make amends, the owner decided to waive their bill for the meal. Unwilling to continue their dining experience after the unusual find, Liu and her friends left the restaurant without finishing their meal.
