Typhoon Haikui churned up the Taal Volcano lake as it intensified monsoon rains this morning in the Philippines.

Video shows large waves crashing onto the shore as strong wind blew across the lake surrounding the Taal Volcano in Batangas province on September 4.

State seismological agency PHIVOLCS said Taal Volcano was under Alert Level 1 for 'low-level' unrest.

Typhoon Haikui, known locally as Hanna, was still enhancing the southwest monsoon, Philippine weather agency PAGASA said on Monday, September 4.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said two people were killed and more than 400,000 people were affected as Typhoons Haikui and Saola ravaged the tropical country last week.

Typhoon Haikui has made landfall in southeast Taiwan on September 3 afternoon, knocking out power to more than 160,000 households.
