Over 7000 women attempt world record of traditional Indian group dance

More than 7000 women gathered in south India on August 30th to attempt a world record of traditional dance.

The dancers were from a women's organisation named Kudumbashree performed the traditional Thiruvathirakali dance at a field in the Kuttanellur Government College in Thrissur, Kerala.

It was reported a total of 7027 women participated in this aiming for a world record for the highest number of participants in a Thiruvathirakali dance performance.

The organisers are now considering submitting the entry to the Guinness Book of World Records.
