This is the amusing moment strong winds from Typhoon Haikui blew an electric bike away from its rider.

The motorist had taken shelter near a shopping mall as the storm battered Manila, the Philippines, on September 3.

He had parked his vehicle next to the building to wait out the rain but did not expect the gales to propel his bike across the pavement.

Footage shows the two-wheeler appearing to sail without a driver, with its owner in the yellow shirt scrambling to grab onto his vehicle before it could roll onto the road.

Onlooker Mea Canta said: 'I took out my phone to record how hard the rain was falling, but I captured a funny scene instead. The man looked so cute chasing after his bike. I'm relieved it didn't cause any accidents.'

Typhoon Haikui, known locally as Hanna, was still enhancing the southwest monsoon, Philippine weather agency PAGASA said on Monday, September 4.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said two people were killed and more than 400,000 people were affected as Typhoons Haikui and Saola ravaged the tropical country last week.

Typhoon Haikui has made landfall in southeast Taiwan on September 3 afternoon, knocking out power to more than 160,000 households.
