A schoolgirl slipped through a metal drain cover before being freed with a circular saw by her neighbours.

The youngster's leg fell through the gap between the steel bars while walking to school in Khon Kaen province, Thailand on June 29.

Her limb was stuck up to his knee, and was screaming in pain before good Samaritans rushed with power tools to help her.

Footage shows the elementary student embracing a woman and looking away as a man sawed through the manhole cover where her left leg had been caught.

Onlooker Siriwimon said: 'She was about 10 or 11 years old and walks to school every day. One of the bars on the cover was missing, so the gap was wider, and the poor kid fell. She was shouting for help, and everyone came to help.'

With the help of the residents, the girl removed her leg from the drain without any serious injuries. She was given first aid treatment for her wounds and bruises by rescuers when they arrived.
