Unidentified aerial object spotted plummeting at fireball speeds in China
An unidentified flying object was spotted descending vertically in the sky in eastern China.
The video was filmed in Shanghai on September 1.
According to eyewitness Mr. Li, it appeared to be in a descending state, unlike an ordinary aircraft, with a vivid and radiant red hue, somewhat reminiscent of Monkey King’s somersault cloud.
In response to this event, the China Meteorological Administration's Public Meteorological Service Center suggested it resembled a "contrail cloud from an aircraft." The Shanghai Meteorological Bureau also speculated that it might have formed after the dispersion of a contrail cloud.
Shanghai Meteorological Bureau expert Wu Rui explained that, based on the images provided by citizens, the possibility of it being a contrail cloud seemed more likely. However, precise astronomical assessments would require additional evidence, such as confirmation from relevant aviation authorities regarding flight paths over Baoshan at that time.
The video was provided by local media with permission.
