SOUNDBITE 1 (Russian): RINAT TURGANBEKOV, Project coordinator of Universal Energy Kazakhstan
"The reason why I decided to choose this company is that I saw this company was engaged in green energy, and I was very interested, because at that time, green energy was just starting to develop in Kazakhstan and I didn't even know that we had such projects."

Universal Energy is the contractor of six wind and solar power projects in Kazakhstan, all of which are part of the 55 China-Kazakhstan production capacity cooperation programs under the Belt and Road Initiative.

SOUNDBITE 2 (Chinese): NAN YI, Chairman of Universal Energy Co., Ltd.
"Since 2015, our company has mainly focused on investing in new energy power plants. We are building photovoltaic power plants and wind farms in Kazakhstan. So far, we have built six new energy power projects, with a total capacity of 380 megawatts."

According to Universal Energy, green energy is expected to contribute to half of Kazakhstan's electricity consumption by 2050.
